Inspiration
Not many people pay attention to the plastic packaging we threw away every time we finish the liquid inside. And not many would refill hand wash bottle since they have to keep another liquid replacement pack somewhere in the storage. People would be happy to use the waste packaging as hand wash – both environment friendly and fun, and no plastic bottle to throw away!
Creativity
DUAL is a new concept of liquid hand wash using solid soap as packaging. It is designed to reduce the plastic pollution generated by waste bottles. After using up the liquid soap, user can remove paper wrapping and use the solid soap packing as hand wash. In the end, dispenser pump is the only component left and can be used in other DUAL soap replacement. The solid soap is made in a high density to make sure it does not crash when pressing the pump.
Design Challenges
In the general linear economic model, the raw material resources are converted into usable products by the finished product, and after use are disposed of by consumers as rubbish. This is fundamentally a wasteful and unsustainable pattern because of the limited resources of the planet and the growing rate of consumption of the growing population; the developing middle class population is expected to expand by three billion people over the next twenty years. Simply using less is not enough.
Production Technology
Soap Ingredients: Olive with Coconut Oil, Goat Milk, Lavender and Sodium Hydroxide. Liquid: Olive with Coconut Oil, Potassium Hydroxide and Borax.
