P.g.bugatti (Electric Bicycle) by Brian Hoehl
2017 - 2018, Golden A' Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design Award Winner
The inspiration comes from the Bugatti Veyron car. The most potent of all race sports cars. All details is made to the absolute top quality level. All small details is made to perfection. This is the race bike version of electric bikes.
The lightest of its kind. The most advanced of its kind. The frame is made as a monocoque frame in autoclave carbon. All electric components is nicely integrated to give the electric bicycle a holistic design approach. The lights are integrated in the the stem and seat post. In order to give the frame strength and low weight at the same time we have a single arm rear stay. The bike has no chain but instead a belt drive. This electric bicycle weighs only 8 kilos. This makes it the worlds lightest.
Design Challenges
The hardest part of this process was to get the frame right. It is an extreme challenging construction to get right because of the single rear stay frame.
Production Technology
Carbon Autoclave method. Monocoque technology.
